Posters of Craftsmen Solidarity
The scans below present a set of three A3 format posters of Cratsmen Solidarity related to three Solidarity regions: Lesser Poland (Polish “Małopolska”), Central-East region in Lublin and Gdańsk region. The two first posters were designed to encourage craftsmen in these regions to join Founding Committees. Both these posters inform not only about the exact addresses of the Committees (with streets, buildings and room numbers) but also about contact phone numbers and working hours. The Gdańsk poster is related to the plenary meeting of the Independent and Self-Governing Trade Union of Individual Craftsmen “Solidarność” in Gdańsk, planned for the 31st of January 1981 in the Ster Club in Gdańsk.
It is worth mentioning that the Archives of the National Commission of NSZZ „Solidarność” have differentiated a separate collection of posters from Poland and abroad (No. 77) accumulated by the archivists of the National Committee. Posters are also to be found in individual archival fonds of NSZZ Solidarity regional and enterprise committees.
