August 1, the outbreak of WWII, leaflets – Collection of materials, reports and leaflets related to the opposition, strikes and repressive measures in the Polish Peoples’ Republic, No. 76/51

The scans below come from an abundant Collection of materials, reports and leaflets related to the opposition, strikes and repressive measures in the Polish Peoples’ Republic (No. 76). This collection has not been fully processed so far, as it is systematically enriched with donations to the Historical Archives of the National Commission of the Solidarity Trade Union. It contains e.g. leaflets issued to commemorate the Warsaw Uprising or Katyn Massacre anniversaries. Selected materials from the Citizens’ Committee for the Construction of the Katyn Massacre Monument – correspondence,, annoucements, communications, reports and posters – have already been published on our website (https://www.archiwapomorskie.pl/zarchnszzs/katyn/).

The presented material was published by Topolówka Information Bulletin (Polish abbreviation: BIT), Solidarity Trade Union Committee at the Port of Gdańsk, “Solidarni” (English: Solidary) Resistance Groups , and “Rytm” (English: Rhythm) Publishing House of the Mazovia Region. The leaflets refer to the Katyn Massacre, the outbreak of WWII, or the Warsaw Uprising. There are also excerpts from the Uprising press and a poem by Józef Szczepański “Red Plague.”
